The government has launched a new initiative aimed at providing young people with digital skills so they can take advantage of online job opportunities.
This initiative, dubbed the ‘FINYA Computer Free Online Training Programme,’ aligns with President William Ruto’s recent call for youth to use technology for economic empowerment.
The programme, led by the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, aims to provide the necessary knowledge and skills for success in the digital economy.
According to a notice issued on Monday, the program’s goal is to prepare young people for digital and online work, allowing them to find good jobs and earn money through gig and freelancing opportunities.
The FINYA Computer Free Online Training Programme will include modules tailored to different skill levels and interests.
Basic modules such as Data Entry, Digital Marketing, and Virtual Assistance will prepare participants for online work.
Furthermore, an Advanced Module focusing on Graphic Design will provide advanced training for those who want to specialise in this field.
The programme, scheduled to run from March 4 to 8, 2024, will include interactive sessions and practical exercises led by experienced trainers.
Participants can expect a comprehensive learning experience focused on improving their digital skills and preparing them for success in the online job market.
