‘Another long con.’ Political opponents are playing Raila on AU thing – Saitabao Kanchory
ODM leader Raila Odinga’s decision to run for the African Union Commission chairmanship has elicited mixed reactions.
Saitabao Ole Kanchory, chief agent of the former Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party leader, is the most recent to comment on the issues.
Kanchory issued a statement cautioning the former prime minister against running for the AU presidency.
Kanchory warned the opposition chief that his alleged political opponents were playing him, which could be the source of his problems.
“Dear BABA Raila Odinga, this AU thing is a poisoned chalice; a red herring; another long con. This one is actually the real long con,” Kanchory said.
Meanwhile, former presidential candidate Ekuru Aukot questioned President William Ruto’s decision to back Raila for the top African Union Commission seat.
In a statement, Aukot claimed that the Kenya Kwanza Alliance leader was using his AU position to remove the former prime minister from Kenya’s political scene.
According to Aukot, the president is concerned that Raila’s fanatical following will destabilise Kenya Kwanza’s ‘feckless’ administration.
