Another University Bus headed to Mombasa Involved in Accident Along the Naivasha-Nairobi Highway
On March 27, at Kimende, along the Naivasha-Nairobi Highway, a road accident involving a Moi University bus resulted in the injuries of multiple students.
According to reports, prior to the incident, the students were en route to Mombasa on an academic excursion.
Overturning and colliding with the roadside, the university bus caused damage and casualties.
Prior to the arrival of police and other emergency personnel, fellow citizens raced to the location to assist in the rescue of the students and driver.
A number of students were also seen climbing from the windows of the bus as locals attempted to raise it in an effort to rescue passengers who might have become entombed beneath.
As police and school administration have yet to issue a statement regarding the accident, there have been no reports of casualties as of yet.
The accident’s cause is being investigated by the police as injured students are transported to adjacent hospitals for treatment.
This incident transpired within two weeks of another Kenyatta University transport that was en route to Mombasa collided with in Voi, Taita Taveta County.
Eleven students were killed when the university bus collided with a caravan on Monday, March 18th, in the incident that precipitated the accident. Multiple people sustained injuries in the heinous incident.
