Atwoli tells off Kenyans complaining about of high taxes and cost of living
Francis Atwoli, the leader of the Central Organisation of Trade Unions, has dismissed the grievances of Kenyans regarding elevated taxes and the increased cost of living.
In a video observed by the Politics254, Atwoli emphasized that President William Ruto had clearly outlined his objectives during the 2022 presidential campaign.
Atwoli asserted that Ruto had been explicit about his plans to develop the country with the collaborative support of all Kenyans.
According to Atwoli, Ruto is presently urging Kenyans to contribute resources to assist him in fulfilling his promise of nation-building.
“Even currently, people are complaining of the high cost of living, price of things has gone up, oh we voted for this government but better William Samoei Ruto. He was very clear when he was campaigning. He told you wewe mama mboga, wewe mtu wa boda boda and everybody that this government will build with you,” he said.
“Sasa ukiambiwa leta mbao, leta jembe, let vitu tujenge hii serikali unarudi nyuma unasema heri tungepigia Raila Odinga. (When you are told to bring wood and a plow to help build the country, you go back and start saying you should have voted for Raila Odinga)”
Atwoli emphasized the need for Kenyans to acknowledge that certain aspects are beyond alteration. He stressed that it is crucial for them to recognize Ruto’s leadership and afford him the necessary time to execute his envisioned plan for the country.
“We must accept for him to implement his agenda because there are some situations you cannot change for either five years or 10 years.”
Atwoli, a prominent figure among Kenyan leaders, actively opposed President William Ruto during the campaign period.
He threw his support behind Azimio leader Raila Odinga, who was making his fifth attempt at securing the country’s highest office.
Following the announcement of the results favoring Ruto, Atwoli changed his allegiance and openly declared unwavering support for the newly elected President.
