Babu Owino Would Easily Defeat Tim Wanyonyi, Sakaja If Elections Were Held Today
If the Nairobi gubernatorial election had taken place today, March 18, Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino would have won the seat.
According to current Mizani Africa polls, Babu is the clear front-runner, with 37.3% of respondents’ support.
According to the survey, he would win eight of the 17 constituencies polled, including Embakasi East, where he leads with 82.4%.
Following him is Westlands MP Tim Wanyonyi, who is very popular among responders.
He is expected to win eight constituencies as well, with Westlands showing high support at 74.5%, despite having a smaller voter base.
In Dagoretti North, both Babu and Wanyonyi are equally popular, with 34.2% of respondents supporting both.
However, the incumbent governor, Johnson Sakaja, would have finished third with relatively few votes from all 18 constituencies.

Kalonzo ranked best Raila’s successor
In other news, Timely Kenya Research has named Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka as the most likely contender to succeed ODM leader Raila Odinga.
The study was done after Raila stated his desire to become the next African Union Commission chairperson in the February 2025 elections.
According to the pollster, Embakasi MP Babu Owino was placed second with 61%, followed by Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna with 55%.
