Donald Kipkorir Reveals the Real Reason Why Moses Kuria Deserves the EGH Award
Colorful lawyer Donald Kipkorir has expressed disapproval of President William Ruto for overlooking Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria in the state honors accolade.
In a statement released on Tuesday, December 12, Kipkorir raised concerns about Kuria being excluded from the recipients of the award, given that it is customary for all Cabinet Secretaries to be honored.
Kipkorir contended that the Elder of the Order of the Golden Heart of Kenya (E.G.H.) is conferred upon Cabinet Secretaries as a matter of tradition rather than as a recognition of their excellence.
“All Cabinet Ministers get EGH by tradition. It is unfair to leave out my friend, Moses Kuria. National honours are given out like confetti. Let every minister get it, as it isn’t a mark of excellence but tradition,” Kipkorir said.
As previously mentioned, the EGH award is bestowed in acknowledgment of exceptional or distinguished services provided to the nation in diverse capacities and roles. During the Jamhuri Day celebrations, President Ruto honored nine Cabinet Secretaries with state honors.
“In recognition of distinguished and outstanding services rendered to the nation in various capacities and responsibilities, I confer awards and honours to the following persons,” Ruto said in a gazette notice.
Having been excluded from the award, Cabinet Secretary Kuria conveyed a cryptic message regarding the roster of individuals honored by the president.
In his message, Kuria implied that he would persist despite not being included in the list of those recognized by the head of state.
Sharing a mysterious post on his X account, Kuria included two photos: one displaying the recipients of the Elder of the Order of the Golden Heart of Kenya (E.G.H.) award and another featuring the names of individuals affiliated with the office of the Deputy President, including Rigathi Gachagua.
