DP Gachagua Woos Raila Supporters in Kilifi, Declares ‘Rais Amempanga’
Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has launched a charm offensive in the Coastal area, pushing Raila Odinga supporters to join Kenya Kwanza and support its efforts now that the former prime minister has announced his candidacy for the African Union Commission (AUC) leadership.
Speaking in Malindi, Kilifi County, on Thursday, Gachagua said that President William Ruto’s endorsement and continued support for Raila’s campaign had all but ensured that the opposition leader would win the coveted seat.
“Mmefuata huyu mzee miaka mingi.
With Odinga out of the picture, Gachagua said, Coast people would need a spokesperson to advocate for their concerns at the highest levels of government, and he believes Kenya Kwanza can play that role.
