Gachagua Furiously Lectures Kiambu Residents for Heckling Ruto
Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has voiced his frustration towards the conduct of Kiambu county residents, which he deems inappropriate, during President William Ruto’s visit.
On Wednesday, February 14th, the Deputy President remarked that it was disgraceful for the residents to jeer at the president during his visit aimed at fostering development in the region.
Gachagua vehemently criticized the incident, stating that such disruptive conduct should be attributed to members of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) and the opposition.
Comparing Ruto to a king, Gachagua emphasized that such conduct would not be tolerated in the Mt Kenya region.
He asserted that anyone opposed to a leader’s speech should refrain from disruption and instead express dissent through voting during elections.
“Kiambu residents embarrassed me. Heckling in front of the king has never happened in Mt. Kenya. This is ODM’s behaviour. We will not accept that kind of behaviour. Ruto is our king, and we must respect him. The president of Kenya has come to bring us development; you bring shame in front of the president in an area where we are people of honour. I want to tell the governor, MP from today on, we cannot accept that behaviour on the mountain,” Gachagua said furiously.
