“Heckling is Side Hustle” Caleb Amisi Slams Govt over Plans to Arrest Hecklers in Ruto’s Events
Sabothi Constituency Member of Parliament Caleb Amisi condemned the government’s proposal to arrest hecklers at President William Ruto’s event.
On Monday, March 18, Amisi encouraged heckling, saying it usually makes political events great.
The ODM lawmakers comically linked heckling to side employment, saying youths work for politicians to feed their families.
“Kindiki Kithure doesn’t arrest any youth heckling in rallies. Youths heckling and women ululating for you in a function make a wonderful rhythm. Heckling is also a side hustle by desperate unemployed youths. They get hired and get something to feed their families,” Amisi said.
Amisi believes the government should pay people to heckle, creating a bustling business for unemployed teenagers.
“What would you prefer? They steal from the public, form criminal gangs or heckle rogue leaders for a living? You need to make business booming for them by paying more others to heckle back in a mixed cacophony of melody,” he added.
Amisi blamed the Government failure to job-create for the youths.
“No one should ever think of arresting youths for heckling unless you show proof of alternative jobs you offered, and they refused,” he said.
