‘I was the man behind the success of ‘Kibakinomics’, I have experience’ – Kalonzo
Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka has asserted that he played a pivotal role in the achievement of the late President Mwai Kibaki’s economic approach, commonly referred to as ‘Kibakinomics.’
Kalonzo highlighted that he significantly contributed to the economic advancement during his tenure as Vice President in Mwai Kibaki’s administration.
“I have heard that William Ruto argue that he wants to practice Kibaki-type economics. He forgets that I was Kibaki’s Deputy for five years,” said Kalonzo.
“Who do you think was driving Kibakinomics? I was the Principal assistant to President Kibaki when the economy of this country grew substantially at about 7% of GDP.”
In an interview on Wednesday with Spice FM, Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka, describing himself as ‘the face of a struggle,’ voiced his criticism of President Ruto for implementing burdensome taxes on the Kenyan population.
He emphasized that these taxes could be the downfall of the Kenya Kwanza government.
“The taxes do not add up. The taxes are what will drive out President Ruto and Kenya Kwanza home if they do not listen,” warned the Wiper Party leader.
Kalonzo Musyoka further stated that if he were to be elected as president, his initial executive directive would be to eliminate the housing levy.
“My first executive order as president would be to do away with the housing tax if I was elected President,” he added.
The former Vice President advised that addressing the national debt should not involve burdening Kenyans with excessive taxes. He suggested that a more constructive approach would be to engage in discussions aimed at renegotiating the debt.
