I will make Ruto one term President – Kalonzo declares
Kalonzo Musyoka, the leader of the Wiper Democratic Movement Party, has claimed that his quest for president in 2027 is unstable.
When he hosted Tharaka Nithi political delegates in Mwingi, Kalonzo declared optimism in beating President William Ruto in the 2027 presidential election.
The former vice president predicted that Ruto will break the record for being a one-term president, comparing his defeat to that of former President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2002.
“If Moi supported Uhuru, and we defeated him, this time it will be what happened in 2002 times 2,” Kalonzo stated.
Kalonzo claimed that Ruto’s popularity would fall as a result of the increased levies placed on Kenyans.
“You lie to the Mama Mboga while looking at them. You lie to boda boda that you will bring electric motorcycles. Where have you seen this electricity? You have to act and save your nation, even if you don’t care, worry for the future generation,” the Wiper leader said.
At the same time, Kalonzo stated that if ODM leader Raila Odinga is elected chairman of the African Union Commission, he is prepared to take over as leader of the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition.
Kalonzo said that he was in a better position to free Kenyans from the repressive leadership of the Kenya Kwanza regime.
“Raila Odinga is the party leader. The deputy party leader of Azimio la Umoja One Kenya is Martha Wangari Karua. But when Raila heads to Addis Ababa, we have to reorganize ourselves. I am ready to lead the opposition in this country, till we rescue Kenya,” he said.
