Jalang’o reveals his pivotal role in facilitating the working relationship between Ruto and Raila Odinga
Lang’ata MP Phelix Odiwuor, aka Jalang’o, has revealed his involvement in President William Ruto’s newly formed collaboration with Azimio leader Raila Odinga.
During the burial ceremony of the late Joseph Muiga, father of Mejja Donk Benjamin Gathiru, MP for Embakasi Central, Jalas stated that he was the first to cross the floor to the government side.
The MP stated that he received a lot of reaction for his much-publicised meeting with Ruto and other opposition MPs.
However, Jalas maintained that the meeting was part of a larger plan, and that he was there to pave the way for the former premier.
Since then, the legislator has always served Raila tea whenever he visits the house on the hill.
“You know I was the one who paved the way, and they attacked severely. But the Bible says some will go ahead, but not to the end. I simply went to prepare the way, and now when Baba enters State House, he finds his young one there; I’m the one serving him tea,” he said, eliciting laughter from mourners.
The MP stated that he attended the burial in solidarity with his Embakasi Central counterpart.
Jalas revealed the critical role Mejja Donk played in his early days as a rookie MP in the August House.
“Today I came here because of my friend Mejja Donk. You know, when you enter parliament, it’s like being a Form One student and looking for a friend who guides you. Mejja is one of the few people who welcome us in parliament, and we have been walking with him,” he added.
