Jimi Wanjigi Declares Kalonzo Musyoka Unfit to Succeed Raila
Businessman Jimi Wanjigi, a former presidential aspirant, has rebuffed the endeavors of Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka to assume the leadership of the opposition, succeeding ODM leader Raila Odinga.
In a press conference held on Sunday, March 3, Jimi Wanjigi voiced criticism against the candidacy of former vice president Kalonzo Musyoka, contending that Musyoka lacks innovative proposals and has nothing new to bring to the table.
According to Jimi Wanjigi, the Wiper leader, Kalonzo Musyoka, ought to take inspiration from the former prime minister and retire from active politics.
Wanjigi argued that entrenched politicians contribute to Kenya’s challenges and should gracefully step down from the political arena, allowing room for emerging leaders to take the forefront.
“Kalonzo Musyoka has hit the road positioning himself to take over leadership, but he should just take the cue from Raila and retire. He has nothing new to offer Kenyans and instead should usher in a new leadership in his own Wiper party,” Wanjigi said.
Furthermore, Jimi Wanjigi criticized the leadership of the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party for diverting their attention to Raila Odinga’s candidacy for the African Union Commission’s chairmanship instead of prioritizing efforts to address the pressing issues affecting the lives of Kenyans.
“What I don’t understand, however, is why since his (Raila) declaration, the people’s agenda, which we were made to believe, his coalition was championing, has been put on hold, and now the focus is on; if and when he takes the seat, who is going to benefit and how,” he added.
