Joho rules out any boardroom negotiations over the ODM party leadership. “Siongei na Mtu”
Former governor Hassan Joho is stepping up his campaign to succeed former Prime Minister Raila Odinga as the ODM party leader.
During a food distribution exercise for Muslims at Nidhamia Hall in Malindi on Saturday, March 23, Joho stated that he was willing to compete with anyone to succeed the ODM leader.
Joho ruled out any boardroom negotiations about ODM party leadership when he declared his candidature for president in 2027.
The ODM deputy party leader stated that several lawmakers within the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party leader have attempted to contact him for negotiations.
“There are people within the Azimio coalition who have been calling me saying I am in a hurry. They have been requesting for talks. But I will not talk to anybody. We shall talk on the ballot. I have just started and will not look back. It is time for the coastal people to be appreciated,” Joho said.
The former governor stated that the former prime minister taught him many key qualities of leadership throughout the years.
“We have inherited courage, democracy, Kenyan values, and fighting for Kenyans with no fear from Raila. The greater conversation on what we have over the period has been able to learn and inherit from Raila,” he added.
