Kenya to Export 1,500 Employees to Israel Earning KSh 229k Per Month for three years
Kenya has revealed intentions to send its workforce to Israel, focusing on positions within the flourishing agricultural industry. This initiative aims to enhance Kenya’s global job prospects.
Following a series of bilateral discussions involving high-ranking officials and key stakeholders, this announcement marks a fresh opportunity for Kenyan workers aspiring to secure employment opportunities overseas.
The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection disclosed that the effort, led by PS Shadrack Mwadime and Rami Cohen, the managing director of Guri Avocados from Israel, is poised to generate around 1,500 job opportunities for workers from Kenya.
These prospects ensure a fixed net income of $1,500 (equivalent to approximately KSh 229,000) per month and entail renewable contracts lasting for a duration of three years.
“These opportunities number about 1,500 with a guaranteed net income of $1,500 per month, on 3 years renewable contracts. The programme will be implemented by a number of local @nea_kenya (Kenya National Employment Authority) licensed agencies,” the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection tweeted on X.
In the discussions attended by Eric Rutto, President of the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI), the emphasis was placed on establishing a mutually advantageous arrangement.
This arrangement aims to secure sustainable employment for Kenyan citizens while simultaneously addressing the agricultural labor needs in Israel.
The execution of the program will be supervised by a consortium of local agencies authorized by the Kenya National Employment Authority (KNEA).
The KNEA is committed to formulating and implementing employment policies and programs with the goal of establishing enduring and sustainable employment opportunities for all Kenyans.
