Man Charged with Spreading False Information about Kilifi Governor
Jimmy Charles Mureithi faced charges on Monday for allegedly publishing false information, a violation of Section 23 of the 2018 Computer Misuse and Cybercrime Act.
He appeared before Senior Resident Magistrate David Odhiambo at Mombasa Law Court, accused of disseminating inaccurate details concerning Kilifi Governor Gideon Mung’aro.
Mureithi’s arrest occurred on Sunday, April 7th.
The court ordered that Mureithi be held in custody for two days before being released on a bond of Ksh 500,000, requiring one surety of equal value.
The case is scheduled for mention on Thursday, April 11th.
