Moses Kuria Heaps Praises to Ex-President Uhuru Kenyatta
Public Service CS Moses Kuria commended retired President Uhuru Kenyatta for his contribution in making the Huduma Kenya Service Delivery program a reality.
In a statement released on Wednesday, CS Kuria also praised Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru and other involved parties for their efforts in establishing Huduma Centers across the nation.
“The Huduma Kenya journey has been a long one and I take this opportunity to appreciate Former President Uhuru Kenyatta and Governor Anne Waiguru and all the other stakeholders who helped us realize this dream 10 years ago,” Kuria stated.
The Huduma Kenya initiative was established to streamline the delivery of various government services through centralized units known as Huduma Centers. It was inaugurated on November 7, 2013, by Uhuru and his then Deputy, William Ruto.
Kuria also expressed his pride in the high-quality services provided at Huduma Centers nationwide, encouraging other public servants to follow the example set by the employees working within these centers.
“I’m very proud of the professional services that our officers provide at Huduma Centers and I want to urge all public servants to emulate them. As I have said in many forums, we must move from public employment to public service,” he noted.
The Public Service CS also disclosed that his ministry is aiming to broaden the reach of Huduma services to local levels, with plans to garner support from Members of Parliament (MPs) using the National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF).
“Our vision is to expand Huduma Kenya to the grassroots so that we can take the government to the people. In partnership with our MPs and with the support of NG-CDF we want to ensure that every constituency has a Huduma Center,” he continued.
The ex-Gatundu South legislator made this statement following his participation in the commemoration of the 10th anniversary of Huduma Kenya.
