Moses Wetangula’s brother Fred ditches FORD-Kenya for ODM
On Wednesday, Raila Odinga, the leader of Azimio, welcomed Fred Wetang’ula, the younger brother of National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula, to the Orange Democratic Movement.
Fred Wetang’ula is also the sibling of Westlands MP Tim Wanyonyi. Additionally, the Azimio leader extended a warm welcome to Bungoma politician Majembe Machanja, who joined the party.
The previous day, ODM experienced an influx of defectors from opposing parties during its grassroots recruitment campaign in Vihiga.
Raila Odinga extended his welcome to the defectors on the second day of the Orange Democratic Movement’s grassroots recruitment campaign in Vihiga County.
“At the Vihiga party delegates meeting held at Sosa hotel grounds in Vihiga, party leader Raila Odinga received several politicians into the party led by former woman rep candidate Violet Bagada. The defectors were from ANC, NAPK, and UDP among others,” ODM said in a statement.
The recruitment initiative commenced in Busia on Monday, marking the beginning of the second phase of the two-week campaign.
The program is scheduled to conclude on January 27, culminating with a final push in the Coastal counties of Lamu, Tana River, Kilifi, Taita Taveta, Kwale, and Mombasa.
