Mwangaza’s Husband And Sister Questioned By Police In Connection With Blogger’s Murder
Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza’s spouse, Murega Baichu, and her sibling, Miriam Guantai, were interrogated by investigators in connection with the homicide of Daniel Muthiani, a renowned Meru blogger widely known as ‘Snipper.’
The questioning of Baichu and Guantai took place on Monday afternoon, following their summons to the DCI headquarters in Meru.
Currently, five suspects, including Mwangaza’s brother Murangiri Kenneth Guantai, are in custody regarding the murder, although they have not yet faced formal charges.
Lenny Kisaka, the Eastern Region DCI coordinator, stated that the investigative process is advancing effectively.
A Kiambu court is expected to deliver a ruling on the police’s request to extend the detention of the suspects on January 17.
Muthiani disappeared on December 2, 2023, and his remains were discovered in a thicket along the Mutonga River banks on December 16, 2023.
