During a recent burial ceremony attended by these leaders, tensions flared, with Senator Omogeni openly declaring his intention to unseat Governor Nyaribo in 2027.

He lamented the alleged mismanagement of the county, citing issues such as drug shortages in hospitals, particularly at the Nyamira Referral Hospital.

Omogeni urged the Members of County Assembly (MCAs) to initiate an impeachment motion against Nyaribo, expressing his eagerness to hold him accountable in the Senate, citing damning revelations from the auditor’s report regarding financial misappropriation in Nyamira County.

In response, Governor Nyaribo faced backlash from attendees when he asserted his administration’s initiation of various development projects, including road infrastructure.

However, his claims were drowned out by the skeptical crowd, prompting him to call for patience until the 2027 elections.

Despite the challenges, Nyaribo remained resolute, urging mutual respect among leaders while expressing readiness to defend his position in the upcoming election.

Former MP Timothy Bosire criticized Nyaribo’s accessibility, contrasting his current demeanor with his previous approachability during his tenure as deputy governor.

Bosire questioned the transformation of leaders upon assuming power, likening it to a negative metamorphosis into something unrecognizable.

Similarly, former MP Walter Nyambati, positioning himself as a contender for the gubernatorial seat, dismissed assertions of his age affecting his suitability for leadership, emphasizing his readiness for the electoral battle ahead.

As the political landscape in Nyamira County intensifies, the stage is set for a contentious and closely watched 2027 election, where incumbent leaders face formidable challenges from within their ranks.
