Nyaribo Targets Arati in Keroka Boundary Dispute
Nyamira Governor Amos Nyaribo has criticized his Kisii counterpart, Simba Arati, regarding a boundary dispute in Keroka town.
Nyaribo asserted that there’s no need for further political discussions because a team is currently on-site, establishing beacons to demarcate the two devolved units.
In his own words, Nyaribo said, “I don’t think Keroka has any political dimension. We asked the national government which sent a team and raised the coordinates to erect the beacons, so what are we discussing, there is nothing.
“Arati is my brother but even as brothers you may disagree but now that the beaconing has been done let each keep his lane and stay within his homestead.”
Nyamira Governor Nyaribo made these statements during a press briefing in Kisii, following his chairmanship of the United Progressives Alliance (UPA) party meeting at Kisii’s Kamel Park Hotel.
He also revealed plans to enhance the party’s presence in Kenyan politics by 2027 through an extensive recruitment drive.
The recruitment process has already commenced in both Kisii and Nyamira counties, both of which boast 20 elected leaders.
Nyaribo mentioned, “The task to recruit more members in the Coast, Rift Valley, Western and North Eastern is on course.”
The Kisii conference was attended by leaders from the National Governing Council (NGC), and the party had organized mobilization and registration training as part of its efforts.
