ODM Has the Best Brains for Policy Making – Ruto CS Confesses
On Saturday, February 10, Gender Cabinet Secretary (CS) Aisha Jumwa stated that the most effective policymakers in Kenya hailed from the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).
While speaking in Busia County, she highlighted how numerous government agencies relied on the expertise of ODM members to craft strategic plans for operations.
Aisha Jumwa expressed the opinion that the region ought to explore methods to utilize the intelligence and expertise available to secure prominent political positions.
“I was telling James Orengo (Siaya Governor) that most ODM supporters, especially from Nyanza and Busia are the most learned being engineers, lawyers and esteemed professors,” she stated.
“They are the ones who contribute to everything. If you ask them to create a policy, they do it very well.”
She further emphasized that it was imperative for the region to acknowledge that they were heading down the wrong political trajectory and make necessary adjustments.
Using a metaphor, Jumwa likened the situation to hitting a wall, suggesting that the logical response is to alter one’s course.
Consequently, she urged residents of Nyanza to consider charting a new political course in the upcoming 2027 general election.
“The most qualified doctors, engineers … are from Luo Nyanza. The region boasts of all big brains in Kenya,” she remarked.
President William Ruto and other members of the Kenya Kwanza administration have consistently called on the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) to disclose their plan for governing the country.
Kenya Kwanza argues that rather than simply criticizing the high cost of living, the opposition should present viable alternatives to alleviate the financial strain on Kenyans.
In November 2023, Raila suggested one approach to mitigating the high cost of living: reducing taxes imposed on Kenyans.
Furthermore, he advised President Ruto to boost production and trim government spending by Ksh500 billion.
