“The Deal is Over”: Kipruto Kirwa on President Ruto’s Betrayal of Deputy Gachagua

In a candid interview with TV47, former Cherangany Member of Parliament Kipruto Arap Kirwa has made startling revelations about the deteriorating relationship between President William Ruto and his Deputy, Rigathi Gachagua.

Kirwa accused the President of reneging on his promise to shield Gachagua from political attacks, suggesting that the recent criticisms aimed at the Deputy President are orchestrated with tacit approval from the highest office.

Kirwa claimed that the attacks on Gachagua are part of a deliberate strategy to undermine his image and influence.

“The deputy president should know that the deal with William is over, but he should not show his head,” Kirwa remarked, emphasizing the need for Gachagua to maintain a low profile and connect with trustworthy allies. He asserted that those casting aspersions on Gachagua’s integrity are not acting independently but with implicit consent from the President.

Highlighting the importance of the Deputy President’s role, Kirwa warned that if Gachagua were to step down, it would significantly weaken President Ruto’s political base.

“The president knows that the numbers around the mountain, if they are to be combined with the eastern block of the Akamba nation, the president will be at home by nine o’clock,” he noted, stressing the strategic significance of Gachagua’s support base.
