UDA Governor Heckled In Front of Ruto at President’s stronghold
Governor Eric Mutai encountered an unfriendly reception from a throng in Belgut, Kericho county.
During the event where President William Ruto was inaugurating the Kapsuser-Sosiot Road, the Kericho governor faced disapproval from the audience.
While the other speakers received a warm reception from the public, Mutai faced hostile chanting from the crowd during his turn on stage.
Upon the president’s invitation for the governor to speak, the crowd began heckling and signalling their disapproval to the head of state, expressing their unwillingness for Mutai to address them.
Notwithstanding the president’s attendance, the audience adamantly refused to maintain composure; they vociferously screamed and insisted that he relinquish control of the microphone.
“Thank you, Mr. President; here in Belgut, we have a problem with the market, and I know the problem here. We appreciate the tarmac road, and as a county, we have done cabro roads, and we plan to complete them,” Mutai said as the crowd heckled.
Mutua, visibly irritated by the booing, strongly criticised the individual, stressing that he would not tolerate such conduct in Kericho.
“This is bad manners, and it should stop because, in Kericho, we shall not allow such kind of behaviour. As a governor, I will not allow this trend, and I have said we must work,” he told the crowd as the president watched in disbelief.
